Day 3 began as a continuation of Day 2. Late into the night and again in the morning, the team worked to solve our problem of locking brakes. Fortunately in the early afternoon, we solved this problem and passed the brake test, which brought a proper beginning to our dynamics day.
We began with acceleration and set the first place time of 3.539! This means that we’ll be starting the endurance race in pole position!
Despite the great start to the four events, our struggles began with the sled pull as the car failed to move off the starting line in both attempts.
Maneuverability faired better, but our steering troubles limited our success. Multiple cones were hit resulting in a less than satisfactory score.
We ended the day with the suspension and traction event, but because of an unfavourable landing, our car rolled onto its side.
Although the day did not bring about great success, we have prepped the car for the endurance race and hope to have much more success. Wish us luck!
